I realize that most of us have any number of cloud storage systems. Whether it was the tantalizing free GBs that were parceled out or because it may've seemed like a good thing at the time, it often feels as thought our lives are spread across any number of cloud storage companies. I was an early adopter. In the early 2000s I wanted to have my data live in the cloud and not on any singular device. Back then, you'd be happy just to get a few MBs. To this day I'm surprised at the referral credits that I still get from Dropbox. If only it were enough so that I don't have to pay for a subscription.
I digress. I'd given up on the idea of syncing my cloud storage. First, each one had different storage limits, data transfer allowances, etc. But I decided that I wanted to take better charge of my digital existence. I wanted to really consider what I could do with strategically syncing my cloud storage. To be honest, I'd entertained the thought for several years and never really acted on it. Sure, I'd wanted to get everything in sync but I just didn't think that I had the time. Plus, I knew that in the case of Google Drive and Dropbox, I'd have to consider the file type and whether or not they could be converted.
Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon cloudHQ whose own tagline is "sync your cloud." It was by no means as daunting a task as I'd imagined. The free trial, which I'm using now, even allows you to earn extra data transfer GBs which then allows you to extend the free trial. Additionally, I even peaked at what the subscription upgrade rate is (less than what is advertised on their site) and I'm likely to continue even after the trial is over. So, in this case I have set it and forgotten it. It's been running in the background while I've been working on other things. What I like is that it's scalable. You can pick what folders you want to sync and in the case of Google Drive and Dropbox, whether or not you want to the system to convert your files (ex. xls vs gsheet). Although I'm waiting for the trial to end before I start syncing my Amazon Cloud Drive with my Dropbox, I'm really happy with the speed and accuracy of the transfers/syncing thus far. Not sure how I'd managed to be without this type of service for so long. I believe in keeping copies of my data in several places and cloudHQ takes the guesswork out of it for me. At the very least, take it for a test drive. Worst case scenario, you'll get your files synced and then decide not to continue. Best case scenario, you'll realize just how important it is to keep you files and folders continuously synced without giving it another thought. Try their free trial and be sure to post to social media and invite friends to up you data transfer limit!
Oh, they also have a new Gmail Label Sharing chrome extension. Who doesn't love Chrome?! It's new and pretty cool. It only shows how much more you can do with cloudHQ. Check out the video and get the free extension!
